I’m thinking of renting a cottage in Maine next year on a lake or pond. I know that some of them have better water clarity than others. Can anyone recommend a lake or pond that has really clear water that might have properties for rent? I want to be able to see the pebbles on the bottom when the water is at least six feet deep.
I’m particularly interested in lakes/ponds within 80 miles of Bangor.

Many years ago I remember visiting Duck Lake, which was pristine in its clarity. Is it still like that?

What makes some water dark like tea, and others crystal clear? Does a spring-fed lake have clearer water?

Guide To Mold In Your Home
